Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals. In this role, you will work closely with cardiologists, interventional radiologists, and other healthcare team members to provide comprehensive care to patients undergoing cardiac catheterization procedures.

Responsibilities:

  1. Pre-procedure Assessment: Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history review, vital signs monitoring, and medication reconciliation, to ensure patient readiness for cardiac catheterization procedures.

  2. Procedure Assistance: Assist physicians during cardiac catheterization procedures by preparing the sterile field, positioning patients, and providing instrumentation and catheterization support as needed.

  3. Patient Monitoring: Monitor patients throughout cardiac catheterization procedures, assessing vital signs, electrocardiogram (ECG) readings, and hemodynamic parameters to detect any complications or changes in patient status.

  4. Post-procedure Care: Provide post-procedure care to patients in the cardiac cath lab recovery area, including monitoring vital signs, assessing puncture sites, and managing pain and discomfort.

  5. Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about cardiac catheterization procedures, risks, and post-procedure care instructions to promote optimal recovery and adherence to treatment plans.

  6. Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare team members, including cardiologists, interventional radiologists, cardiovascular technologists, and nursing staff, to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.

  7. Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adherence to evidence-based practices to enhance patient outcomes and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Requirements:

  • Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • BLS and ACLS certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in cardiac catheterization lab or critical care setting.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic healthcare environment.
